It is possible with any mental health issue that a person may experience thoughts of suicide. For some people they remain as thoughts, and the person feels fairly certain that they will not act on the thoughts. There may be times that these thoughts begin to involve plans for suicide, and the person may feel they could be at risk of acting on their thoughts and plans. It is always essential to seek help if a person is having thoughts about suicide. Contact the GP in the first instance who will be able to give guidance in seeking the appropriate help. If at any time there is any concern that thoughts, and/or plans of suicide are likely to be acted upon by yourself or another person, then go yourself or go with the person if it is not yourself to your nearest Accident and Emergency Department or Dial 999.
